Many volunteers have contributed their time and talents to Billie Creek Village since its founding. A combination of dedicated talented volunteers and skilled employees will help sustain the work that was so characteristic of its founders. Volunteers are being called upon once again to offer their time and to furnish the talents needed for a new season.
We are seeking individuals with a passion for our mission to preserve, to educate and to entertain visitors to the village complex where Billie Creek Village and Living History Farmstead has sought to replicate and share the daily experiences of Parke County residents during the dramatic changes of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
Knowledge of history or a farm and rural background are not necessary. We need individuals who can devote some of their time each month to this special spot in Parke County and bring with them a willingness to immerse themselves in an effort that will contribute to their own lives and the lives of their children and their grandchildren.
The majority of volunteer positions with the Living History Farmstead and the turn-of-the-century Billie Creek Village. Other educational programs, off-season special events and some behind-the-scenes positions are available year round. The Billie Creek Village Inn is one example of a year round opportunity. There are a wide variety of fulfilling experiences and time commitments available for individuals and an equal array of opportunities for the involvement of entire families or groups.
